- How does blink work?
blink has capabilities built right into the card that allow you to just hold your Chase card with blink up to a special reader at the checkout to pay for your purchases. These transactions are safe because they are protected by an additional level of encrypted security. Some stores don't even require you to sign a receipt. Of course the Chase card with blink can still be used like a regular credit card at millions of locations worldwide wherever Visa or MasterCard is accepted.
- How do I use blink?
Just follow these three easy steps:
- Once your purchases have been totaled, hold your card up to the special reader
at the checkout.

- Watch for the series of lights on the reader, listen for the tone, and then remove your card.
- Wait for transaction approval and you are finished.

- How can I apply for a Chase card with blink?
To apply for a Chase card with blink, go to www.chaseblink.com/apply.
- Does the Chase card with blink look different than regular cards?
The Chase card with blink will look similar to a traditional magnetic-stripe credit card and will work with existing credit card terminals. The Chase card with blink will have an octagon-shaped icon on the front of the card and one of the following symbols on the back:

- How is blink different from Visa's payWave and MasterCard's PayPass™?
All three terms refer to contactless payment features. Chase refers to its contactless feature as blink, whereas Visa refers to its as payWave and MasterCard refers to its as PayPass.
Chase cardmembers will find one of the following blink symbols on the front of their card
or 
with the Visa payWave
or MasterCard PayPass
symbol on the back of the card.
- Do blink transactions require a signature?
At participating merchants, blink transactions under $25 may not require a signature, significantly speeding transactions.
- Can I get a receipt for blink transactions?
If you are not provided with a receipt and would like one, simply ask the cashier and one will be provided.
- Can the Chase card with blink still be used like a traditional credit card for all types of transactions?
Yes. The Chase card with blink can also be used at millions of locations worldwide where Visa or MasterCard are accepted.
- Are blink purchases secure?
Yes. As always, you are 100% protected against any unauthorized purchases. These transactions are safe because they are protected by an additional level of encrypted security. You must deliberately use the Chase card with blink at the point-of-sale to make a transaction. The Chase card with blink needs to be within an inch of the special reader and correctly oriented to be read. In addition, blink transactions use specific data that is protected by the highest level of security.
- What happens if the card is lost or stolen?
To report a lost or stolen credit card, please call Chase Customer Service at 800-945-2000 immediately. You are not responsible for any unauthorized purchases.
